Day #13 Germany

On the thirteenth morning we went to Bundestag Building which is the German parlament.

We had tickets to the dome which is on top of it. There were audioguides to take with us. The audioguide told about the buildings around us which we had a great view to.

We took the bus to a shopping center called Bikini Berlin. We ate at a Mexican place there.

Then we walked to the Berlin Zoo to see pandas and some other animals.

We got to see all the animals we wanted to but then it started raining so we left.

We took the same bus to Alexanderplatz and then started walking to our hotel. On the way I stopped at the comic book store and bought the first three issues of the Silver Surfer.

After resting in our apartment we went to see the nearby stores. We saw the Hakescher Höfe which is a series of court yard with shops.

We ate at an Asian restaurant called Marubi Ramen. There were some really good dumplings.

Tomorrow we’ll fly back to Finland early so this is the last post from Germany. Bye!

Day #12 Germany

On Wednesday it rained all the day. We went to Hamburger Bahnhof. It’s a museum of contemporary art. We saw for example a work of Bruce Nauman.

Then we went to Potsdamer Platz. There is a mall called Potsdamer Arcade that we went to. We ate at an asian buffet.

We drank some coffee in our apartment and then went to Freitag Store Berlin. They sell bags made of truck tarpaulins and stuff like that.

Then we walked to comic book store called Grosser Unfug. I bought a marvel comic there.

We bought a pizza on the way back to our hotel and ate it in our apartment.

Day #11 Germany

In the morning we left the hotel and started our 3 h drive to Berlin. It rained the whole way to Berlin.

We drove to the airport to return our rented car and then took a taxi to our hotel.

Our hotel is called Schoenhouse Apartment. It’s an apartment hotel so the rooms are pretty big.

We were pretty hungry so we went to a hamburger place right next to our hotel. It’s called Burger Vision. I really liked the style of that place even though the food wasn’t that amazing.

Then we walked to Alexanderplatz and went shopping to a mall called Alexa.

Then we rested at our hotel room and in the evening we went to Mall of Berlin in Leipziger Platz. We ate sushi there.

Then took the subway and went back to our hotel.

Days #5-10 Germany

The first day in Rügen was warm. We were by the pool and swam in the see.

Then we went to eat in a restaurant in the same building. It is called Heimathafen. They have good burgers.

We spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool.

Then we went to the nearby town called Binz. We saw a pier. After walking around the town we bought a tuna pizza and went back to the hotel to eat it.

In the morning we went to see the other parts of the building. The building is about 4 km long so we just saw the first half of it in the morning.

In the afternoon we ate at a restaurant called Dolden Mädel.

Later we went to see the other half of the building and a little bit of the beach.

In the evening we ate tuna salad in our apartment.

The next day we spent some time by the pool until we went to eat lunch at a restaurant in Binz. The restaurant was called Freustil. It has one Michelin star.

Later we drove to Naturerbe Zentrum Rügen. It is a treetop walk. There is a giant viewing tower which is 82 meters above sea levels. The tower is built around a tree just a bit smaller than the tower.

Then we went to the hotel and ate shrimp salad.

The fourth day in Rügen we started with a morning swim.

After a while at the hotel we drove to Jasmund National Park. Then we had to walk a 3,2 km trough a forest to the actual area we wanted to see. But then we realised that we could have just taken the bus.

The Jasmund National Park has a few chalk cliffs. There is the Königsstuhl and Victoria’s View, they are both pretty big cliffs.

After that we came to the hotel and ate at the Heimathafen.

In the late afternoon we drove to Sellin and ate at in a restaurant on a pier of the town.

Then we drove back to the hotel.

The next day was rainy. In the afternoon we went to Bergen auf Rügen.

There was a traveling amusement park. Almost all the people of that town were apparently there.

There wasn’t anything to see really. So we just went back to our hotel.

That was pretty much all we did that day.

The next and the last day we were by the pool and on the beach because it was sunny.

Day #4 Germany

In the morning we ate breakfast. Then we packed.

We started our 2,5 hours journey to Rügen. But first we drove to Lübeck and went to buy some marzipan and see the city.

We saw for example the Cityhall and Stadttor. There were many marzipan shops but we bought marzipan only from Lübecker Marzipan Speicher. Then we ate at Nordsee and I didn’t get what I wanted to eat.

Then we started driving to Rügen where we’ll be staying for the next week.

Rügen is the biggest island in Germany. It is by the Baltic Sea on the northern cost of Germany.

We drove to our hotel. It’s called Prora Solitaire. It was first built in 1930’s as a nazi resort and rebuilt during recent years. Here are pools and it’s next to a beach.

All we did that day was just go to a local Lidl to buy some food.

Days #1-3 Germany

We flew from Finland to Berlin before noon. It took only 1,5 hours.

At the airport we took our luggage and went to the rental car service center to get our car. It was really slow and it took about an hour until we were good to go.

We drove to Hamburg where we’ll be staying there for the first three days.

Our first hotel was the most expensive hotel we’ve ever been in so we stayed there for only one night. The hotel is called Westin Hamburg and it’s in the same building as the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. The building is really cool and the concert hall/hotel is built on an old magazine.

Our hotel room was on the sixteenth floor and it was SO AWESOME.

The windows were a bit scary but somehow I dared to go look outside. The other window was curved outwards so you could see lean to it and see down to the street.

Then we went to explore the hotel and we found a restaurant and ate there. It was called Störtebeker.

After dinner we went outside for a little walk and took just a few pictures.

Then we went to our hotel room, I took a bath and we went to sleep.

The next day we woke up in the morning and went to have breakfast.

Then we went back to our room to pack our stuff. We were going to leave the hotel in the morning.

Before we left we had a tour in the concert hall. It wasn’t what I thought it was because the tour guide just told us about the buildings history and we didn’t get to see much of the building itself.

Then we left and on the way to our hotel we went to a museum at the Deichtorhalle.

After that we drove to our hotel Henri. On the way there we saw some celebrity in a waffel shop. We didn’t get to see him except his red cap because there were of a lot of fans.

The hotel was pretty small but the room was pretty big. The hotel was great.

We went to a nearby train station just to see it. It was raining.

Then we were in our hotel room for the rest of the evening and went to sleep…

Until the freaking fire alarm went on when we were sleeping. We called to the lobby and they sayed that we need to get out of the building. So we just put on our shoes and ran outside.

Everybody came out and the firefighters and police arrived. The hotel staff counted that we were all there meanwhile the firefighters checked that everything was okay inside.

Then they told us everything was all right and that it was just a false alarm. So we headed inside and back to bed.

In the morning we ate breakfast.

Then we went to see the city center.

After a while we took the subway to a quay and went for a boat tour in the harbour and Hafen City area.

We ate at a fish and chips restaurant called Fischbrötchen König. The service was pretty good and fast.

Then we walked around the city and went for coffee to Mutterland.

After coffee we walked to Europa Passage mall. We didn’t find anything to buy.

Then we rested at the hotel. Then we walked to Ahoi by Steffen Henssler. It was pretty good.

Then we went to sleep at the hotel.

Day #6 Tenerife

Last full day, here at Tenerife! By the way this post doesn’t have that many pictures, sorry. After breakfast we spent the whole morning by the pool.

I went for a really small walk by the beach. The beach is a pebble beach.

It was pretty warm outside until it got cloudy. Then we went back to our room.

We went to eat at a small bar close to our hotel. I ate a small sandwich there.

Then we drove to Siam Mall. It’s a great place and it’s close to the Siam Park waterpark, which we didn’t go to. I didn’t even buy anything from the mall tho. Except some Haribos from the local supermarket called HiperDino. 🙂

Then it started raining and we left. We just watched some Netflix at the hotel. Then because it was raining we ate at the hotel buffet. It was decent food.

Tomorrow we’re flying back to Finland in the morning, so this is the last post from Tenerife, bye. 🙂
